WHAT IS THE CAUSEWAY ARTISTS SOCIETY?
The Causeway Artists Society was formed in 2005 as an independent association of artists and buskers working and performing on the City of Victoria's inner harbour lower causeway. With a decades long history as contributors to local culture and tourism, the members represent a natural partnership within the inner harbour and a stakeholder voice within the larger community.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE C.A.S.?
The purpose of the Causeway Artists Society is to:
  • act in the best interests of its members, the visual and performance artists of Victoria's inner harbour causeway;
  • maintain and promote the tradition, value and appreciation of publicly created visual art and performance on Victoria's lower causeway;
  • work towards a greater recognition of the cultural and entertainment value produced by its members;
  • provide support for the professional development of its membership by means of:

    • critical jurying;
    • bulk purchase of materials;
    • provision of group insurance;
    • interactive consultation and support;
    • networking with other arts groups and professional affiliations.
  • achieve and maintain a strengthened position as vital stakeholders and contributors to the culture and character of the city of Victoria, and
  • act as a fundraising body for its purposes.
